Pretty Petty Poetry Newsletter
August 1st – Back to School

Hello and welcome to Pretty Petty Poetry Newsletter, and this will be a monthly newsletter.

I’m Amanda D. Petty. I was born in 1982, drowned at 22 months old and live in a power wheelchair, and I’ve got Spastic Cerebral Palsy on my left side of my body, and I’ve got speech impairment. In 2001, God gave me a very powerful gift of poetry. In January of 2012, I thought of writing poetry for other people. On July 10th, 2012, “Pretty Petty Poetry” has started! On April 7th, 2015, Eric Brown is a partner of “Pretty Petty Poetry”. On March 20th, 2016, Anna Shepherd and James W. Hill join the Pretty Petty Poetry Team.

My Thoughts: I had James and Anna, our new teammates, write a paragraph about themselves to have you, The Pets, get to know them better.

James: My name is James Hill, and I am a teammate with Pretty Petty Poetry. I enjoy my job. I have been married to my lovely wife, Megan Marie Hill, for three lovely years. My hobbies are working hard and being around vehicles and have since I was little. I love comedy, action, and Christian movies.

Anna: My name is Anna Shepherd. I love to sing and have since I was little. I also love little kids and want to be an elementary school teacher. I love reading and hanging with my family. I am new to the poetry business but I'm glad to be starting.

My Spiritual Thoughts: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints/Mormon: Last month, I went to The Temple for the first time, and it was peaceful, beautiful, and wonderful there. When the session was over, there was a line to congers me. Seeing that, I was very happy.

If you’re a Spiritual person of any religion, we would love to put your thoughts in the newsletter. Don’t be afraid, we won’t be scornful. Just e-mail us: prettypetty2010@gmail.com or pyroatfire@yahoo.com, and put in the “subject bar”: “My Spiritual thought for the Pretty Petty Poetry Newsletter”. We would like to have them before the 1st of the month or sooner. We won’t put your name. But, we will put your religion.

The News: James and Anna are doing very well. They are teaching me more than I’m teaching them.
James couldn’t get some parts. I’ve been trying, in different ways, to teach him. I prayed for help, and he finally got them. James, I’m beyond pleased at you.
Anna is a very great student. She’s picking up things really fast and well. I’m surprised at her.
They both know how to do the “Easy Styles” now.

Eric knows how to do the Ode. I’m not putting his ode on the site because it’s personal to him, and I want to respect his wishes.

Poem of the Week: We are still figuring some things out. Please, bear with us.

Poetry Workshop:
On July 16th, I did not do it because I was in too much pain.
On July 30th, No one showed up.

If you want to join on the fun, just tell me. This is JUST for the E-Pets. Meaning, it’s for the Facebook Pets, only. This workshop is on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month. It starts at 7pm, MST. It only last for an hour to hour and 30 minutes. Plus, you will learn about what I love the most, poetry.

Back to School: 1-29, you pick the topic.

Pretty Petty Club: The club will be open on September 9th, at 7:00pm, Utah. Anyone and everyone is welcome. It’ll be at the LDS Church in Eden. The address is: Click here for the directions: https://www.google.com/maps/place/4279+N+3300+E,+Eden,+UT+84310/@41.3360943,-111.8709442,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x87530aa2d4ae31dd:0x7d54f3c7ecfc6d52?hl=en. If you want to bring a poem, you can! Also, if you want to bring a friend, you can.
About the Club: It is about an hour long because of my Spastic in my CP. Within that hour, you will feel God’s Spirit. If you want to give a comment, you can. Before and after, we say a prayer. Then, we have refreshments. It’s a truly spiritual experience that you won’t have again. You can bring your friends. Also, you can bring a poem or just listen.

Your Thoughts: We truly want your thoughts on this poem:

No poem.

Please, e-mail us at prettypetty2010@gmail.com or pyroatfire@yahoo.com with YOUR thoughts on this poem.

Poem of the Month: This is my dogs. You know about Chili. Well, we have a new family member, and his name is: Jax. He LOVES my ears and dark places. In July, Jax is very smart to sleep in dark places. He is VERY mellow for his age. He remind me of a teddy bear, beyond cute. I think he knows that. Enjoy this fun poem.

My Little Paws
By-Amanda D. Petty

Eight little paws, wrestling.
A six-week-old, a two-year-old,
Watching them, just makes me laugh.

Eight little paws have my heart.
Shih tzu, Chihuahua, playing,
Forgetting the world.

Eight little paws, relaxing in the rays.
Jax and Chili, forever friends.
My little paws, I love you.

Lyrics of the Month: Poetry has a plethora of styles, and our ultimate favorite is lyrics.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXxKeDuvkkM. This song is us because of you. I realize you have to come back for issues next week. But, you do and you told everyone. That means more than you’ll ever know. As the creator of this business, it’s very overwhelmed at times. Thank you for making us, a team, feels like we’re in the “hall of frame”.

Want Help: If you want to help with “Pretty Petty Poetry”, you can! We are looking for some volunteers to help with the desktop wallpapers and getting us clients. We can’t do everything by ourselves anymore, too stressful.

For New Comers: This is AMANDA’S idea to do this business. Everything you see is her alone with the help from God. This is a part of “Pretty Petty Poetry”. She has been studying English with the help from a professor, Nancy Lowe, from Weber State University, Utah, USA since October of 2011.
