This week is very different because we lost two great poets. They lost the zeal of poetry, and I understand that. I’m not upset but I am hurt because they are extremely well. So, we are doing a competition to get two poets. James, Kofi, and I are the judges. We had 20 plus that WANT to join. On the 8th of this month, we decided to have a poet to do this issue. The winner of this issue is: David Dzirasah. This poem is very well written, and he picked such outstanding words. Congratulations David.

Dawn of festivity beckons
Creatures of the field awakened
Drawn by the whispering of ancient trees
Filling the heart of men with words
Words comforting the souls of the multitude

Evergreen are the ancient trees of the valley
The old and wise marvel at  the miracle trees
From the east to the west, north to south its words have reached
Bringing forth the season of healing and restoration

As the wind blows over the valley of hope
Fabrics of words are woven
Woven by tender trees of the season
Words woven through the ages

The trees of miracle have come
Darkness is fading into the great expanse
No more shall the heart of the multitude thirst
For the season of hope has set all free.

More Than Poetry: We take “Pretty Petty Poetry” very, very seriously. Some people think poetry is very “old fashioned”, boring, and not that interesting. We can understand. To us, poetry is the true heart of a person. Amanda describes it as: lyrics without any music.
