December 1st – Merry Christmas, חֲנֻכָּה or חנוכה (Ḥănukkāh): Happy Hanukah, Mele Kalikimaka, Feliz Navidad, Happy Kwanzaa,
Hello and welcome to Pretty Petty Poetry Newsletter, and this will be a monthly newsletter.
YouTube Channel: www.youtube.com/prettypetty2010
I’m Amanda D. Petty. I was born in 1982, drowned at 22 months old and live in a power wheelchair, and I’ve got Spastic Cerebral Palsy on my left side of my body, and I’ve got speech impairment. In 2001, God gave me a very powerful gift of poetry. In January of 2012, I thought of writing poetry for other people. On July 10th, 2012, “Pretty Petty Poetry” has started! On April 7th, 2015, Eric Brown is a partner of “Pretty Petty Poetry”. On March 20th, 2016, Anna Shepherd and James W. Hill join the Pretty Petty Poetry Team.
My Thoughts: I just want thanked everyone for supporting us. As this grows, I find myself, as a person, changing. Yes, I morphed before this business; it’s much different kind of changed. I don’t know how to explain it, except this way… It’s like a cozy blanket that you have on, and when you take it off, you’re cold. This blanket is my Pretty Petty Poetry, and it feels really good. Yes, it’s heavy at times, and it get really hot. I won’t ever take it off. I remember when I didn’t have it on, and I felt below zero degrees. I was lost, and if I’m being 100% honest, I was dumb. No really, I was. I did not understand things that well. But now, incredible, powerful, nutty, crazy, poet. I love this lifestyle. Thank you for coming back week after week. It means a lot to us.
---
I don’t think I’ll be moving. I guess it’s the wrong timing.
My Spiritual Thoughts: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints/Mormon:
If you’re a Spiritual person of any religion, we would love to put your thoughts in the newsletter. Don’t be afraid, we won’t be scornful. Just e-mail us: prettypetty2010@gmail.com or pyroatfire@yahoo.com, and put in the “subject bar”: “My Spiritual thought for the Pretty Petty Poetry Newsletter”. We would like to have them before the 1st of the month or sooner. We won’t put your name. But, we will put your religion.
The News:
DJ Crazy J: James has an awesome, new job. He is a DJ for “Inked-Radio”. You can hear him on: www.inked-radio.com. He’s on: 3 to 6pm Eastern Standard Time on Fridays.
Mary Poppins: Anna was a school play in November. It was Mary Poppins. Anna says that it was great.
Khan’s Back: Eric and I made a mistake for letting Khan go. So, he’s back for good. He will be doing JUST promoting PPP (Pretty Petty Poetry); no poetry, just advertizing. There won’t be any clients for him. If you want to follow him: www.twitter.com/sohail2927, www.instagram.com/khan1_4_3, www.facebook.com/sohail.baba.96, and www.skype.com/sohail.baba26. I will not give out his email address.
Videos: If you missed or can’t come to the poetry readings, you’re in luck. Now on, they will be on the site. I just have 2 videos and I’ll put 1 more video. because I just got an idea in 2015. They’ll be under “Pretty Links”. You will hear my voice and my cool wheels. I truly hope you’ll understand me. Yes, it’s hard at first; in time, you’ll comprehend my speech.
For the Pets: I have Skype, Google+, and Yahoo Messenger. These are just for business only. My Skype and Google+ names are: Amanda D. Petty. My Yahoo is: apet1982@yahoo.com. My email and facebook are still optional.
Seasonal Greetings: November 1-December 20, we’ll be doing poems about the holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and other holidays.
Note: if you “like” our “Pretty Petty Poetry” page on Facebook, we will not post it on it because we feel it won’t be proper. Please, don’t post this poem on your wall. If we see it, you will be cut off from “Pretty Petty Poetry” for good.
Noticed: There won't be a “Pretty Petty Poem of the Week” on December 18th because we’ll be sending The Christ-Like Christmas Poem on the 15th.
For new comers: Since 2006, Amanda sends out a Christ-Like Christmas poem every December 15th.
2 Weeks Off: The whole team is taking a 2-week break: from December 20 to January 8. We will be back in 2017. Be safe and we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a good New Year.
Pretty Petty Club: It was very nice. We had about 4 or 5 people. Anna came, and that was a surprised. Thank you to all who came.
Sad news: I’m sorry to say that it was my last one for a while. I don’t know when I’ll have them again. The readings are too stressful on me, physically. Because of my SCP and after worth, my body gets extremely tight and hurts. Plus, I need to focus on teaching Anna, James, and Eric. Don’t worry, I will have them again.
Your Thoughts: We truly want your thoughts on this poem:
This is one of my favorite poems, of mine, that I did. Enjoy.
Do you Hear what I Hear?
By-Amanda D. Petty
Do you hear what I hear in the “silent night”?
A King’s cry to an evil world to “Follow Him”,
A Father sends down His Son to teach,
A young Mary singing “Oh Hush Thee, My Baby”.
Do you feel what I feel in this “still” night?
Real, unconditionally love, Christ’s love.
Do you see what I see in the “oh holy night”?
Three wise men worshiping The Babe,
Animals bowing down to Him,
A waltzing star, leading His way.
Please, e-mail us at prettypetty2010@gmail.com or pyroatfire@yahoo.com with YOUR thoughts on this poem.
Poem of the Month:
My dad helped with this one a few years ago. I want to honor him with this hilarious poem. My dad ALWAYS makes things up, trying to make my family think twice. Then, we laughed because of his weird, crazy personality. Dad, this one is for you. RIP dad, I love and miss you.
Rudolph, Rudolph
By-Amanda D. and Steven R. Petty
Rudolph, Rudolph
Where are you tonight?
Are you and the boys on a perilous flight?
Or are you in a bar, having shots?
Rudolph, Rudolph,
Where are you?
Are you humming your song?
Or is Santa wearing a bright red thong?
Maybe, that’s why your nose is blinking, for,
HELP!
Lyrics of the Month: Poetry has a plethora of styles, and our ultimate favorite is lyrics.
I want to show our Pets that I have a weird, crazy, and silly personality. This video is very hilarious. The sad part of this, I know where these are from. This shows you my age. Laugh and enjoy.
Want help: If you want to help with “Pretty Petty Poetry”, you can! We are looking for some volunteers to help with the desktop wallpapers and getting us clients. We can’t do everything by ourselves anymore, too stressful.
For New Comers: This is AMANDA’S idea to do this business. Everything you see is her alone with the help from God. This is a part of “Pretty Petty Poetry”. She has been studying English with the help from a professor, Nancy Lowe, from Weber State University, Utah, USA since October of 2011.
