Pretty Petty’s Poem of the Week
Hello
Pretty Pets, welcome to the “Pretty Petty’s Poem of the Week” issue. This will
be a weekly issue. I’m Amanda D. Petty, and I am a poet. This will show off my
diversion of my poetry. This is a part of “Pretty Petty Poetry”. If you want
more information, go to: www.prettypettypoetry.blogspot.com.
This one is different. Rick is his name,
and he is a brilliant writer. We wrote this together, and I want to honor him.
He is the real reason why I write.
Rick, whatever happen, “We are friends to the end.”
Friends 'til the End
By
Amanda D. Petty & Richard Cruse
We've been friends since 1997,
My friend, how time slips through
our hands.
Reminiscing the youth years, we had;
School dances, you held me so tight,
holding my hands, it felt so right.
Joking around about getting old, we
had it made,
So it's time for this story to be
told.
High school hits, chatting about our
classes, the teachers, the lunches, new friends,
I remember, cherishing every minute,
‘cause I know it wasn't gonna last forever,
And just like now, we were there for
each other back then,
So no matter what, we are friends
'til the end.
Adult hood arrives, aches and old
ages, we feel.
We moved away, we miss each other.
We knew our friendship would still
be real.
Growing up, a new chapter of
friendship for one another.
Now here we are in our older years,
Talking about our youth, jobs,
stress, and fears,
Laughing to tears, how foolish we
were back then,
No matter what, we are friends 'til
the end,
Yes, we are friends 'til the end.
More Than Poetry: I
take “Pretty Petty Poetry” very, very seriously. Some people think poetry is
very “old fashioned”, boring, and not that interesting. I can understand. To me,
poetry is the true heart of a person. I describe it as: lyrics without any
music. Because of my speech, I can’t talk fast or normal; discovering poetry
has really opened me up.
Pretty Pets:
I want your feedback on “Pretty Petty Poetry”. I want to know on how I can
improve on this business. I’m very open on your comments.
