Entrance Of A New Year
By-Ojo Seun

We all journeyed through
Marrying and binging in a happy flow
While some felt not to binge although
They wore a frank face like the spoil of a tomato.

Here we are at the entrance seat
Lost, still bound and incomplete.

Where are the friends
that brought about joyful trends?
Where are the beings with grey hair?
That walk their ways with sticks of care.

Less we know in high rate
That the journey was that of fate
To prepare our mind for the next quest
And make us alert to what the next will request.

Now that we are dawn with light at this entrance
Seeing the old pass away in a glance
And now to journey again through the road of twelve,
Shall we not make rituals to get divinity join with self
and subdue the task on our shelf?

More Than Poetry: We take “Pretty Petty Poetry” very, very seriously. Some people think poetry is very “old fashioned”, boring, and not that interesting. We can understand. To us, poetry is the true heart of a person. Amanda describes it as: lyrics without any music.
