Pretty Petty Poetry Newsletter
July
1st, – Happy 4th
of July and Happy Birthday to Pretty Petty Poetry!
Hello and welcome
to Pretty Petty Poetry Newsletter, and this will be a monthly newsletter.
If there are blue
lines under sentences, it’s a link.
I’m Amanda D. Petty. I was born in 1982,
drowned at 22 months old and live in a power wheelchair, and I’ve got Spastic
Cerebral Palsy on my left side of my body, and I’ve got speech impairment. In
2001, God gave me a very powerful gift of poetry. In January of 2012, I thought
of writing poetry for other people. On July 10th, 2012, “Pretty
Petty Poetry” has started!
My Thoughts: I cannot believe
I’m going on my second year of “Pretty Petty Poetry”. It feels like I’ve been made
for this business. I truly want to thank everyone who has supported me. My
families, friends, and fans, I could not do this without you. Thank you.
In a Year’s Time: It was a very slow
year. I had seven requests. Within a year, I wrote my 1800th poem on
January 16th. I tried to get Sharie Dew, the CEO of Desert Book
Store, to sign me, but no luck. I WILL NOT GIVE UP! Let’s see what the
upcoming year brings.
---
On June 8th, in Las Vegas,
Nevada, USA, there was a shooting in a pizza place; two cops were killed.
Lucky, it was not my oldest brother. This is really close to home because I
used to live there. I’m glad that he wasn’t there at the shooting, and I’m
saddened for those two cops. I’m praying Heavenly Father will solace those
families, friends, and the co-workers who knew the former cops.
My Spiritual Thoughts: The Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-Day Saints/Mormon: “Lead me,
guide me, walk beside me, help me find the way. Teach me all that I must do to
live with Him some day.” is the chorus of “I Am a
Child of God”.
Most of us know who we are. This knowledge came from birth. For those who don’t
know what I’m talking about, I want to TRY, in my own words, to put what
I mean. If you think I’m crazy, that’s ok. My friend and I discussed this
subject before, and I didn’t explain it very well. So, I’m praying The Lord
will help me.
Recently, my older brother had a new baby
girl. Without seeing or meeting her, I love her already. This love comes from
our lives in Heaven, where we stayed. My niece and I talked, walked, played,
and got to know each other. I can’t remember that because Heavenly Father took
that away. So, how do I know this? The Holy Ghost gives me an overwhelming
feeling; a feeling that’s undeniable. We lived before this life. Have you
noticed on some things you feel like you’ve done it before? When you meet a
person, you feel like you’ve met them before? For example: I met my friend in
2012, and we felt like we’ve known each other before. Within two weeks after we
met, we were talking about deep stuff.
We lost that memory of doing anything when
we come to earth because it is base on our faith in God.
If you’re a
Spiritual person of any religion, I would love to put your thoughts in the
newsletter. Don’t be afraid, I won’t be scornful. Just e-mail me at: prettypetty2010@gmail.com,
and put in the “subject bar”: “My Spiritual thought for the Pretty Petty Poetry
Newsletter”. I would like to have them before the 1st of the month
or sooner. I won’t put your name. But, I will put your religion.
The News: In June, I wrote
three types of Sonnets, on my own. They are: “Onegin”, “Hybrid”, and “Occitan”.
There’s a BRAN new Sonnet that I made up. It will be called: “APet’s
Sonnet”. Look for that, when I put all the “21 types of Sonnets”, on my site.
Nancy taught me two new Sonnets, “Curtal Sonnet” and Dante’s Sonnet.
There are seven new wallpapers on my site,
and there is a new style, “A Person’s Name”.
There will not be any news next month
because my professor will be out of the country.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: If you have my
number, do not, I will repeat, do not contact me through it, containing “Pretty
Petty Poetry”. E-mail me instead of calling!
If you know my family and you talk to them
about “Pretty Petty Poetry”, STOP because they have no part in this at
all. This is my business;
not theirs.
If you have a snag, E-MAIL ME.
I will pray about it and talk with you. I really hate doing this. But, no one
will listen to me.
If you talk bad about “Pretty Petty
Poetry”, YOU WILL HEAR from me, and trust me, I will not be
sweet.
If you won’t respect my
wishes, YOU will be cut off from “Pretty Petty Poetry” forever.
This will be in affect on July 1st,
2014 at 12:01 am in Mountain Standard Time in USA.
I know I made some mistakes on some poems,
but that WILL change. You
have to realize, “Pretty Petty Poetry” is the first idea, where it is public.
At first, there were bugs. I was trying to figure them out. But, they are
officially out now. Give me a chance to prove it.
Notice: I WILL NOT write on June 25th
through June 28th because I will be out of town. Also, I will be out
of state July 3rd through July 7th. I’ve got fun family
things to go to. If you want a 4th of July poem, tell me between
June 28th through July 3rd, and I will write for you.
There will not be a “Pretty Petty’s Poem of
the Week” on June 28th and July 4th.
Poetry Reading: It will be on
Friday, October 10th, at 7:00 pm, Mountain Standard Time.
For now on, the readings will be different.
If you want to see what I mean, come, and I’m promising you, you will like
these changes; you will find, this will be very interesting.
Remember: these readings are for everyone.
If you want to come, come. The readings are in the LDS church
in Liberty, Utah, USA. EVERYONE AND ANYONE IS WELCOME! I just have one
request. If you come, tell me because I’ve got a list to know how many copies
of my poems to make.
About the Readings: The reading is
about an hour long because of my Spastic in my CP. Within that hour, you will
feel God’s Spirit. If you want to give a comment, you can. Before and after, we
say a prayer. Then, we have refreshments. It’s a truly spiritual experience
that you won’t have again. You can bring your friends. Also, you can bring a
poem or just listen.
Your Thoughts: I truly want your
thoughts on this poem:
Pain
By-Amanda
D. Petty
A black cloud
comes.
The cold has me.
“Please,” I begged
to the heavens.
“Please, take this
pain away.”
A drop of water
falls.
Lightening,
thundering, in my heart.
“Are you there,
God?”
I cried to Him.
The storm won’t go
away.
It lingers for
months.
Trying my best to
calm this storm down,
But, no luck.
“Why?” I asked God.
“Why did this
happen?”
Windy for days.
Strong clouds for
weeks.
“God!” I yelled
while tears fall.
“Take this pain.”
Poem of the Month: I
write two or three poems a day, and I want to share my best one of the month.
I’m getting a very strong impression that I should read the poem. I may pause
in the middle of the poem. I will do my best. Some words are hard to
understand. If you have “Window Media Player”, you will hear my voice. The
audio will be attached.
This month is America’s Birthday, and I am
very proud “to call this home”. Enjoy.
To Call This Home
By-Amanda
D. Petty
Whenever I think of
my flag,
I think of real
freedom.
Free to dream,
Free to talk about
religion anytime,
Free to do
anything.
Whenever I think
about the war,
I think about the
families;
Not knowing if they
will see them.
Soldiers are
fighting for my freedom;
Battling for the
rights.
Whenever I think of
my country,
I see God’s hands.
His powerful hands
are with us.
He won’t let us be
alone.
Whenever I think
about my flag,
I see love, The
Lord’s love.
The forefathers and
everyone before me,
Sacrifice their
lives for this land,
And I’m truly
blessed to call this home.
Lyrics of the Month: Poetry has a
plethora of styles, and my ultimate favorite is lyrics.
Everyone loves their country. But, NO one else has the freedom like United
States of America. For those who live in the USA, we are beyond blessed to live
here. A few of my friends are serving us, and I truly want to dedicate this
part, of the newsletter, to them. I feel, and this is just me, we take our
freedom for granted because we live here, and we don’t truly see the wars. I
love this country: the beauty, the rights that we can practice any religion,
and freedom to do anything. I love God has chosen this nation for us. I’m
praying and hoping that we NEVER forget the blessings and freedoms we
have. May God bless
the U.S.A.
and watch everyone with true love, and Happy Fourth of July to everyone, here
in the USA and other countries.
Want help: If you want to help with “Pretty
Petty Poetry”, you can! I am looking for
some
volunteers to help with the desktop wallpapers and getting me clients. I can’t
do everything by myself anymore, too stressful.
For New Comers: This is MY
idea to do this business. Everything you see is me alone with the help from
God. This is a part of “Pretty Petty Poetry”. I’ve been studying English with
the help from a professor, Nancy Lowe, from Weber State University, Utah, USA
since October of 2011. For more information: www.prettypettypoetry.blogspot.com; everything is
there.
