Pretty Petty’s Poem of the Week
Hello Pretty Pets, welcome to the “Pretty Petty’s Poem of the Week” issue. This will be a weekly issue. We are Amanda D. Petty and Eric Brown, and we’re poets. This will show off our diversion of our poetry. This is a part of “Pretty Petty Poetry”. If you want more information, go to: www.prettypettypoetry.blogspot.com.
Two months ago, someone that I so loved went away, and I really miss him. This is for you, My Papa Bear. I will always love you.
Hurt (My Dad)
By-Amanda D. Petty
Blue eyes, you, no more with me.
Memories, rush and crush my heart.
Why did you have to leave me?
Don’t you realize that I need you?
A life, a laugh, a love, misses you.
“Be strong.” I said.
“How can I be?
My Papa Bear, in Heaven.” I said with tears.
“God, be with me.” I prayed.
Loneliness engulfs,
Depression holds,
Sadness pulls.
Kisses need your cheek,
Soul aches for your voice,
Ears long to be with you,
Hands need your touch.
Recalling you, brings me joy, then hurt.
Changing my world without you,
I cannot, but I have to.
You are forever a part of me.
Dad, I love you.
More Than Poetry: We take “Pretty Petty Poetry” very, very seriously. Some people think poetry is very “old fashioned”, boring, and not that interesting. We can understand. To us, poetry is the true heart of a person. Amanda describes it as: lyrics without any music.
Pretty Pets: We want your feedback on “Pretty Petty Poetry”. We want to know on how we can improve on this business. We’re very open on your comments.
