Hello
Pretty Pets, welcome to the “Pretty Petty’s Poem of the Week” issue. This will
be a weekly issue. I’m Amanda D. Petty, and I am a poet. This will show off my
diversion of my poetry. This is a part of “Pretty Petty Poetry”. If you want
more information, go to: www.prettypettypoetry.blogspot.com.
This is a poem about Easter. It’s a bit
different. Enjoy and have fun reading this.
An Easter to Remember
By-Amanda
D. Petty
Hopping, hopping, hopping.
“What was that?”
A deaf boy asked.
Feeling something fuzzy.
“What is this?”
A blind girl asked.
A blind girl asked.
Passing out toys and treats.
“What was that?”
A lame boy asked.
Hiding eggs.
“What is this?”
A muted girl signed.
Coming to each child,
“I’m the Easter Bunny.
Do you want to join us?”
Screaming of joy,
The children yelled,
“YES!”
Asking, the lame boy,
“How?
I can’t walk.”
Thinking, the Easter Bunny,
“I’ll help you to pick the eggs.
We’ll have a blast!”
Adding, the lame boy,
“You can ride on my power wheelchair
too.”
The man, in the custom, had tears.
Rolling away, the lame boy.
“HEY! WAIT FOR ME!”
“Hop to it.”
Laughing, getting eggs.
More Than Poetry: I
take “Pretty Petty Poetry” very, very seriously. Some people think poetry is
very “old fashioned”, boring, and not that interesting. I can understand. To
me, poetry is the true heart of a person. I describe it as: lyrics without any
music. Because of my speech, I can’t talk fast or normal; discovering poetry
has really opened me up.
Pretty Pets:
I want your feedback on “Pretty Petty Poetry”. I want to know on how I can
improve on this business. I’m very open on your comments.
