This will show off our diversion of our poetry. This is a part of “Pretty Petty Poetry”. If you want more information, go to: www.prettypettypoetry.blogspot.com.
This is a bit deep. It’s good.
Drives
By-Amanda D. Petty
Dark, black clouds roll into my poor bones.
In silence screaming, “Emancipate me!”
Depression drives to a globe of sour watering eyes.
Pain, a phony friend, I know well;
Laughing by hurting my weak muscles.
“God, can you hear me?
Bequeath me with an answer, please.”
My pillow heard this old story before.
Meds like candy, popping them into my mouth.
“I cannot keep on doing this.” I plead.
“GOD! Please, succor me.”
Mountains of tears on my face,
Drive the wheel, flooding my nights.
“Rainbows, please, stay.” I prayed.
Day by day, the clouds move.
A rainbow.
A hand drives me forward to solace.
“Am I dreaming?” I asked myself.
Observing my new surroundings,
New eyes.
“God?” I questioned.
“Is this my answer?”
Peace engulfed me.
Love overpowered fears.
Hushing my doubts.
A hand becomes a man.
I stared at him,
“Drive me.” I requested.
He drives me to heaven.
No clouds, no black, no sadness,
Just warmth, a reason to live,
Overflowing of joy, hope, stays.
“Thank you, God.” I whispered.
More Than Poetry: We take “Pretty Petty Poetry” very, very seriously. Some people think poetry is very “old fashioned”, boring, and not that interesting. We can understand. To us, poetry is the true heart of a person. Amanda describes it as: lyrics without any music.
