This is by Bamidele. Enjoy.
Broken
He settles as a still breeze on
the dusk of my mind and breathes
softly on the coal mines that heat up my
conscience and deaden the glory of worship.
He melts my congealed mouth
as he presses his promises on the roof of my tongue,
then he calls me by name
and rocks me to rest with lullabies.
He stretches forth his hollow palm
and love trickles down his digits like
a billion fountains, leaking.
He says, "peace be still".
He shows me how to hate sin
and how obedience is a house built on rock.
He tells me grace abounds like the stars
innumerable and that his name is a tower that
ever saves.
He holds my hands at each stop
and strengthens my weary foot.
The weaker I got, the stronger he became.

More Than Poetry: We take “Pretty Petty Poetry” very, very seriously. Some people think poetry is very “old fashioned”, boring, and not that interesting. We can understand. To us, poetry is the true heart of a person. Amanda describes it as: lyrics without any music.
