Pretty Pettys Poem of the Week

Hello Pretty Pets, welcome to the “Pretty Petty’s Poem of the Week” issue. I’m Amanda D. Petty and my business partner, James W. Hill, and our teammates, Joseph Oghenakhua, Anna Shepherd, Abdul Sami, Jesselyn Council, Nicholas Roberts, Mahreen Khan, and Tim George; we are poets. This will show off our diversion of our poetry. Each week, a different poet will do this.

Cold Wind
By-Abdul Sami

A cold wind blows my way,
Taking all of my memories away,
Leaving my mind in disarray,
Torn and broken I lay,
With no one to love
But to burn in hate.

My heart is broken,
My soul is fractured,
My cry for help still remains unanswered.
Nothing could I gain,
But a life full of misery and pain.
The disease cannot be cured,
The world is corrupt and impure.
The medicine is gone,
I can already feel,
The cold winds of the coming storm.

More Than Poetry: We take “Pretty Petty Poetry” very, very seriously. Some people think poetry is very “old fashioned”, boring, and not that interesting. We can understand. To us, poetry is the true heart of a person. Amanda describes it as: lyrics without any music.
