Hello Pretty Pets, welcome to the “Pretty Petty’s Poem of the Week” issue. This will be a weekly issue. We are Amanda D. Petty and Eric Brown, and we’re poets. This will show off our diversion of our poetry. This is a part of “Pretty Petty Poetry”. If you want more information, go to: www.prettypettypoetry.blogspot.com.

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, on Sunday, here’s a very powerful poem. Enjoy.

My Vow, My Word, My Promise
By-Amanda D. Petty

Why am I so afraid to tell you this? Knowing that you will run and hide. Something tells me that you won't. So, I'm making the biggest promise of my life and I'm scared to death. But, I'm taking that chance. I hope you won't run because I need you more than anything. Don't know why I'm so scared. Baby, please don't run. This is my vow, my word, and my promise to you.

My Love, I'm giving you my world, my universe, and everything I’ve got. I know I broke my promise before and why should you trust me this time? Well, this time is totally different. When you first met me, I was dumb and not thinking. Some times, I thought, why are you still mine? Now, I know. And, I'm not letting you go again. This time around, I know what love is; and please trust me that you are my dream man, my every thing and more.

My Gorgeous Angel, before you, I wished on a star; and it seemed that you were wishing on the same one. I feel like I known you forever. Why do I feel this way? Maybe, it's true. I know that's sound crazy. But let me explain, I think I saw you in heaven. My Prince, I truly do love you more than anything and I want to share the rest of my life with you. I want to see your gorgeous face when I wake up. I want to be your every thing and more.

This is my word: I will not be like the girls you've dated in the past. This is my vow: I will be your answer to a question; your sweet air, when you can't breathe; your fantasy, when you can't dream; your light, when everything seems dark; and your guardian angel, when the devil knocks. This is my promise: when you need me, I'll be there.

Baby, this is my vow, my word, and my promise.

More Than Poetry: We take “Pretty Petty Poetry” very, very seriously. Some people think poetry is very “old fashioned”, boring, and not that interesting. We can understand. To us, poetry is the true heart of a person. Amanda describes it as: lyrics without any music.

Pretty Pets: We want your feedback on “Pretty Petty Poetry”. We want to know on how we can improve on this business. We’re very open on your comments.
