July--Monthly

Pretty Petty Poetry Newsletter
July 1st, – Happy 4th of July and Happy Birthday to Pretty Petty Poetry!

Hello and welcome to Pretty Petty Poetry Newsletter, and this will be a monthly newsletter.

I’m Amanda D. Petty. I was born in 1982, drowned at 22 months old and live in a power wheelchair, and I’ve got Spastic Cerebral Palsy on my left side of my body, and I’ve got speech impairment. In 2001, God gave me a very powerful gift of poetry. In January of 2012, I thought of writing poetry for other people. On July 10th, 2012, “Pretty Petty Poetry” has started! On April 7th, 2015, Eric Brown is a partner of “Pretty Petty Poetry”.

My Thoughts: 4 years I’ve been doing this, and still going strong. I was talking to a friend about this. He says only one word: wow. Wow is right. We’ve been all over the world without any passports. To me, that’s pretty awesome.
In a Year’s Time: I’ve done 12 requests. Change and fix the prices. It has been a slow year. I just did my 100th client. To all of you, I, personally, want to thanked you. I never dreamed, imagined, or thought about this. You, the Pets, are taking me on an incredible trip. Thank you for the support, the prayers, laughs, cries, and I love you. Let’s see what the next year brings.
---------------
National/World News:
On June 12th, USA, there was a terror attack on the gays. There were 49 died and many more injure.
On June 28, Turkey, there was a bombing at an Istanbul Airport where they think it was by Isis.
To those who are hurt, I’m very sorry. I’m also sorry to those who lost their loved-ones. I hope God is giving you solace.

My Spiritual Thoughts: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints/Mormon:

No matter what may happen, be prepared.

If you’re a Spiritual person of any religion, we would love to put your thoughts in the newsletter. Don’t be afraid, we won’t be scornful. Just e-mail us: prettypetty2010@gmail.com or pyroatfire@yahoo.com, and put in the “subject bar”: “My Spiritual thought for the Pretty Petty Poetry Newsletter”. We would like to have them before the 1st of the month or sooner. We won’t put your name. But, we will put your religion.

The News A Major Change in Pretty Petty Poetry:
I’ve been teaching two people for this business. Now, I can say whom because they joined the team; Mr. James W. Hill and Ms. Anna Shepherd.

Anna will be doing the Kid’s issue. James will do the Military issue. They will start next month, August.

Back-story: James was my high school classmate, and Anna is in my Ward.

I know they will stay. I am very excited to work with these two people because I’ve read their work, and they have true heart, real feelings, and they are good poets.

Welcome Anna Shepherd and James Hill to Pretty Petty Poetry Team!

Anna & James’ Clients: Eric and I talked about having clients for Anna and James, and posting their work with our poems, and we both agreed. So, you have four poets to choose from:
Eric Brown: pyroatfire@yahoo.com
Anna Shepherd: shepherdanna16@gmail.com
James W. Hill: jwhppp@yahoo.com
Amanda D. Petty: prettypetty2010@gmail.com

Weekly Poems: Eric and I discussed about having our new teammates help us with the weekly poems, and we both agreed. So, the WHOLE team at Pretty Petty Poetry will do the weekly poems and the Facebook Weekly Poems (FBWP). I’m very excited about this because we are totally different poets.

James: James has a few poems on our site. There are ABC, Acrostic, Tanka, and Cinquain.
Anna: Anna also has a few poems. There are Cinquain, ABC, and Tanka.

------------------

Happy Birthday: June 1-July 29, we’ll be doing FREE poems about happy, upbeat poems.

Pretty Petty Club: The club will be open on September 9th, at 7:00pm, Utah. Anyone and everyone is welcome. It’ll be at the LDS Church in Eden. The address is: Click here for the directions: https://www.google.com/maps/place/4279+N+3300+E,+Eden,+UT+84310/@41.3360943,-111.8709442,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x87530aa2d4ae31dd:0x7d54f3c7ecfc6d52?hl=en.
About the Club: It is about an hour long because of my Spastic in my CP. Within that hour, you will feel God’s Spirit. If you want to give a comment, you can. Before and after, we say a prayer. Then, we have refreshments. It’s a truly spiritual experience that you won’t have again. You can bring your friends. Also, you can bring a poem or just listen.

Your Thoughts: We truly want your thoughts on this poem:

This is by our new teammate, James W. Hill. James, great job. Enjoy.

Soldiers Coming Home
By-James W. Hill

As soldiers return from war to the families they left behind,
as children see their loved ones for the first time in a few years;
they begin to cry and hold their loved ones. There’s not a dry eye
in the place as the children begin to cry. I thank God for our freedom
and the soldiers who sacrifice their lives so that we can be protected
from harm. May God bless those brave souls as they come home safe
and sound once again. I thank God to be an American in the U.S.A.

Please, e-mail us at prettypetty2010@gmail.com or pyroatfire@yahoo.com with YOUR thoughts on this poem.

Poem of the Month: This is by our other new teammate, Anna Shepherd. Anna, great job. Enjoy.

Freedom
By-Anna Shepherd

All because of people,
Who are willing to risk their lives.
America has freedom,
And that will never die.
We love this country.
And we can all live freely
Thanks to the women and men,
Who put up a fight,
For all of us every day.

Lyrics of the Month: Poetry has a plethora of styles, and our ultimate favorite is lyrics.

I’ve been thinking about the soldiers, and how they are sacrifice their own life for a stranger like me. They do not know me at all, my personality, my situation. I truly need to say thanks. Thank you for keeping me, my families, my friends safe. It is because of you that we have freedom. It is because of you that we have a choice. I prayer you are safe. May Heavenly Father be with you, watch over you, and His Hands cover you. May “God Bless the USA” and bless you. We love you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=daqwGRdRIsk

Want help: If you want to help with “Pretty Petty Poetry”, you can! We are looking for some volunteers to help with the desktop wallpapers and getting us clients. We can’t do everything by ourselves anymore, too stressful.

For New Comers: This is AMANDA’S idea to do this business. Everything you see is her alone with the help from God. This is a part of “Pretty Petty Poetry”. She has been studying English with the help from a professor, Nancy Lowe, from Weber State University, Utah, USA since October of 2011. For more information: www.prettypettypoetry.blogspot.com; everything is there.
