My Thoughts: As PPP (Pretty Petty Poetry) grows, I’m finding myself morphing and growing as well. Is it weird how one idea can change everything? I asked myself this question, “Why did I make PPP?” That question has many personal answers. If I’m going to be honest with you, I really don’t know why I created this. I guess, I want to change how the non-handicapped people view disabled people. I have a powerful voice, and I need to speak it. If you knew me in my teens, I wasn’t like this. I wasn’t shy, for say. But, I was so beyond scared about a lot of stuff, personal things. This, PPP, has made me FORCED open my life up to you. I can tell you I’m not the same lady 10 years ago. I thanked Heavenly Father for this organization. It has made me grow up exceedingly fast in 6 years in July. I thanked my poetry family for they have taught me patient, how to teach, forgiveness, and love, real and true love. I thanked the awesome Pets who followed us through the changes.
My Spiritual Thoughts: This is one of my favorite hymns. The third verse is the most powerful, to me, of this hymn.
The News: I have sad news. 5 poets quit: Prinsloo, Roselle, David, Michael O. and Kanu. This is very heartbreaking for me and James. But, I know they are too busy for PPP. Good luck to everyone in the future. We will miss you.
Nature’s Animals: In May, there will be an issue, “Nature’s Animals”. This will be our animals and nature poems.
New Members: We have 2 new members, Touch, Younos_Unik, and Magnificent. Touch will be doing a SunLight issue, Magnificent will be doing the Spiritual Thoughts, and Younos_Unik will be doing Nature’s Animals. WELCOME TO OUR NUTTY TEAM!
Poets’ Tell: I want to let the new members tell about themselves…
Younos_Unik: Hello, my name is Sakor Inusah Musah, the 3rd of 5 children and I've lived almost all my life in Kumasi, Ghana. I began writing from my late primary school days and someway, somehow, my pen scribbles mostly about life and love. I describe myself as more innovative than creative and I'm here with PPP because of you, yes you!
Project Manager: On April 17, I made Mickey-Iyke Eze a Project Manager. Welcome to the partnership, Mick.
No more APDJ: I quit being a DJ. I don't want to say the reasons.
Your Thoughts: We truly want your thoughts on this poem:
Depression is a confession they say. Sitting in the pew of an empty church, my soul is a safe. I can not escape. These scars I have built my throne in which I lay Drunken and dazed, this crown of wounds hanging off my head but now i can see the darkness astray the bodies they lay like directions they speak. For I am a king of this country I seek of which is my own, this heart will soon fade but my story will fade in the blackest of days for I am the king of a mystery today.
Quotes of the Month: Life strokes are tests to strand your skin and equip you for greater heights, never give up. -Fuseini Dipantiche Mohammed Naporoo Kamaldeen Shitobu
Poem of the Month:
This month is about womanhood, sisters, aunts, mothers, grandmothers, and friends that are ladies. I want homage mothers with this poem. Enjoy.
A Heavenly Mom
By-Amanda D. Petty
“What makes a true mom?” I asked a little girl.
“A mommy gives me candy and plays dolls.” She replied with a smile.
“What makes a real mom?” I asked a little boy.
“A mommy plays football.” He retorted when we walked for a mile.
“What makes a true mom?” I asked a teen girl.
“A mom does my hair for school and has great style.”
“What makes a real mom?” I asked a teen boy.
“A mom drives me to an event and waits for me for a while.”
“What makes a true mom?” I asked a woman.
“A mom has a good sense for life and knows a good book title.”
“What makes a real mom?” I asked a man.
“A mom will walk the extra step and cry with you the Nile.”
“What makes a true mom?” I asked a disabled lady.
“A true mom takes care of you and knows how to use a mobile.”
“What makes a real mom?” I asked a handicapped gentleman.
“A real mom knows the news and everything global.”
I asked myself, “Do I have a real and true mom?”
“No,” I said to myself with a smile.
“I have a heavenly mom that has wings.”
I hug an angel with style.
I love you, mom. Thank you for everything.
Lyrics of the Month: Poetry has a plethora of styles, and our ultimate favorite is lyrics.
THE WHOLE DUTY OF MY EVE
Clap for me when I win,
encourage me when i fail
and say the truth when am hurt.
Talk to me when am wrong,
scold me when am at fault.
Sing, dance and Discuss my
favorite sport when am bored.
Tell me the trendy in the
fashion world,
meet my needs when am weak,
Feed my kids with words of
mine and God.
Call and chat me up when am off.
prepare my breakfast,
work on my tie, give me a kiss
and say good bye honey
when I go to work.

Want help: If you want to help with “Pretty Petty Poetry”, you can! We are looking for some volunteers to help with the desktop wallpapers and getting us clients. We can’t do everything by ourselves anymore, too stressful.
For New Comers: This is AMANDA’S idea to do this organization. Everything you see is her alone with the help from God. This is a part of “Pretty Petty Poetry”. She has been studying English with the help from a professor, Nancy Lowe, from Weber State University, Utah, USA since October of 2011.
