Pretty Petty’s Poem of the Week
Welcome to Pretty Petty Poetry Weekly. Every week, a different poet will write a poem. Enjoy.
A TRUE LOVER'S ANTHEM
Loving you so freely because you allowed it,
Difficult it is to fully love when in doubt,
Difficult it would be if you never open yourself to me,
If you close yourself to me.
Love needs encouragement,
It needs both parties to open up,
Open that pandora's box so I can see if …
If I can live with the contents within.
It needs both parties to commit,
But commitment in our day is a taboo,
A no go area WHY???
I can love you better if we both share our world,
Our hopes, dreams and our present.
Forgive me … I'm in love,
In love with the beauty and the ideology held within love,
Love itself needs more in relations
not just words,
Anyone can say "I love you "
But how many can practice it???
How many can live it???
How many can bare it???
Forgive me … I'm in love
Love that resists temptations,
Temptations of the flesh and of materialism,
It requires patience,
Like wine it matures with age,
If both parties are willing to harness it,
Then harvest it in its purest form.
Forgive me … I'm in love
In love with the beauty that comes with love,
The love that sings in one's heart,
That dances on diversity's head,
That tramples on all negative notions that try to derail it.
Forgive me… I'm in love
IN LOVE WITH TRUE LOVE
AMEN

More Than Poetry: We take “Pretty Petty Poetry” very, very seriously. Some people think poetry is very “old fashioned”, boring, and not that interesting. We can understand. To us, poetry is the true heart of a person. Amanda describes it as: lyrics without any music.
