Pretty Petty’s Poem of the Week
Welcome to Pretty Petty Poetry Weekly. Every week, a different poet will write a poem. Enjoy.
I’M LOVE
“Ore mi,”
I would have told you
If I had one,
I would have showed you
The hearts I’ve won,
With stands underneath;
I would have brought you
The candles I’ve burnt,
Like a stone stretched on force;
I would have showed you
The animals I hunt
Like “Odegbemi” who lives
Next to my hut.
“Oro yi ma su mi,”
It’s as if
Valentine will later sue me
Because I said I don’t…
I’m done with filling a basket
With content that sheds for plantar fascia
I’m done with using my blade
To design stunning portrait of lines
That remains within the walls of my halls.
Creator created creatures
To become creatures creators,
So I’ll remain under “Igi Iroko”
With lovely tidings dressed for
People “lati ko,”
I’ll remain with the Alpha
By feeding myself with alfalfa,
I still love LOVE,
I still love Living,
I still love On,
I still love Verbal,
I still love Ethics.
I’m Living On Verbal Ethics.
