Pretty Petty’s Poem of the Week
Welcome to Pretty Petty Poetry Weekly. Every week, a different poet will write a poem. Enjoy.
The poet is from Nigeria, and this title is from a Tribe, that’s in Northern Nigeria, Hausa, and the meaning of the word is "thumbs up."
DANSAKI
My key’
Belongs to Crown of Thistles,
When curtains are torn
When the tempest torments with a thorn,
I see my lid looking like loner,
When all mint machines spreads
Gutter tongues on me,
When I take a big bird before borders
Or when my calves trail the rail,
I will always ring bells of dansaki
To the Crown that never fail
Because red pipes still holds bill boards
With “MOTION” boldly written in my flesh.

More Than Poetry: We take “Pretty Petty Poetry” very, very seriously. Some people think poetry is very “old fashioned”, boring, and not that interesting. We can understand. To us, poetry is the true heart of a person. Amanda describes it as: lyrics without any music.
